Jessica Alys is a portrait artist working in York. She also paints patterns mainly based on fractals, as well as landscape and collage. One of Jess Alys's recent projects is paintings/portraits of cats in mysterious and patterned settings. Jessica Alys is a self taught artist with a gently naive style - she taught herself to paint when very restricted by m.e. syndrome and started working professionally when she began to recover. Her interest in patterns and fractals grew out of her scientific background - she has a degree in Astronomy.
She has had 3 solo collections exhibited in York and Leeds, and contrbuted to various group shows in York.
